에이치아트이엔티가 <현대 미술 거장 6 인 ATO; 아름다운 선물 展>을 2023년 9월 22일 부터 10월 15일까지 여의도 더현대 서울 6 층 ALT.1 갤러리에서 개최한다. 해당 전시는 박서보, 이우환, 박석원, 김강용, 강형구, 이이남 등 한국 미술의 위상을 높인 거장들의 작품을 130여 점을 선보이며, 300평의 대형전시공간에 거장들을 소개하는 영상과 함께 초기작부터 신작까지 참여 작가별 별도의 공간을 구성하였다. 

박서보는 국내 추상미술을 대표하는 ‘단색화의 거장’으로, 대표작 ‘묘법’ 시리즈를 통해 단색화 고유의 특성과 개성을 국제 미술계에 소개했다. 이우환 역시 국내 ‘추상미술의 선구자’로 ‘점으로부터’ ‘선으로부터’ 등의 작품이 유명하며 국내 생존 작가 중 작품 가격이 가장 높은 작가로 꼽히고 있다. ‘적의’ 시리즈로 유명한 원로 조각가 박석원은 한국 현대미술사에 한 획을 그었다는 평가를 받는다. 돌, 쇠, 나무 등 자연을 근원으로 하는 재료의 순수한 물성에 축적의 기법을 더한 작품들을 선보여 왔다. ‘벽돌화가’ 김강용은 일찍부터 벽돌 시리즈 작업을 해왔다. 벽돌을 하나의 그리드로 여겨 세밀하게 묘사함으로써 그것을 다시 인식하고, 숙고하게 만든다. 서양화의 거장 강형구는 극사실주의 화법을 구사한다. 빈센트 반 고흐, 앤디 워홀, 마릴린 먼로, 오드리 헵번까지 한 시대의 아이콘을 사진보다 더 생생하게 작품에 담아왔다. 이이남은 포스트 백남준 작가로 불리며 미디어 아트 분야에서 세계적인 거장으로 인정받았다. 디지털 기술과 동서양 고전을 절묘하게 접목시킨 미디어 아트로 현대 미술계에 새로운 패러다임을 제시한다.

특히 이번 전시는 데뷔 30주년을 맞은 배우 김희선이 아트콘텐츠 디렉터로 참여하는 첫번째 프로젝트로 직접 작가들을 섭외해 기획했다. 김희선 디렉터는 “30 년 이란 시간을 많은 분들에게 큰 사랑을 받으며 지금까지 올 수 있었고, 앞으로도 배우 김희선으로서 더욱 최선을 다 할 수 있는 원동력이 된 것 같다" 며, "이번 전시는 여러가지 의미가 있지만 특히 그 사랑을 주신 분들에게 제가 드리는 감사의 선물과도 같은 전시라며 많은 분들이 이번 전시에 함께 하시고 많이 행복하셨으면 좋겠다" 는 말을 전했다.

 

ATO, 6 Masters of Contemporary Art; A Beautiful Gift will be held from September 22 to October 15, 2023 at ALT.1 Gallery on the 6th floor of The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido. The exhibition presents 130 works by masters who have raised the profile of Korean art, including Park Seobo, Lee Woo-hwan, Park Seok-won, Kim Kang-yong, Kang Hyung-gu, and Lee Yi-nam, and organizes separate spaces for each participating artist, from early works to new works, along with videos introducing the masters in a large exhibition space of 1000 square meters.

Park Seobo is a 'master of monochromatic painting' representing Korean abstract art, and introduced the unique characteristics and personality of monochromatic painting to the international art world through his representative work, 'Myohyeop' series. Lee Woo-hwan is also a Korean 'pioneer of abstract art' whose works such as 'From a Point' and 'From a Line' are famous, and whose works are considered to be the most expensive among living Korean artists. Park Seok-won, an elderly sculptor known for his 'jeuckui' series, is considered to have made a mark on Korean contemporary art history. His works combine the pure physicality of natural materials such as stone, steel, and wood with the technique of accumulation. Kim Kang-yong, a brick painter, has been working on brick series since early on. He considers bricks as a grid and depicts them in detail, making us recognize and ponder them again. Kang Hyung-gu, a master of Western painting, uses an ultra-realistic style. From Vincent Van Gogh to Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe to Audrey Hepburn, he has captured the icons of an era more vividly than in photographs. Lee has been called the post-Baek Nam June and is recognized as a global master of media art. His media art, which exquisitely combines digital technology and Eastern and Western classics, presents a new paradigm in the contemporary art world.

In particular, this exhibition is the first project in which actress Kim Hee sun, who is celebrating her 30th anniversary, participates as the art content director and has personally selected and organized the artists. Director Kim Hee-sun said, "I have been able to spend 30 years receiving great love from many people, and I feel that it has become a driving force for me to do my best as an actress." "This exhibition has many meanings, but in particular, it is like a gift of gratitude from me to those who have given me love, and I hope that many people will join me in this exhibition and be happy," she said.
