알부스 갤러리는 2023년 8월 26일부터 11월 26일까지 그룹전 <친구들 Les Amis>을 선보인다. 이번 전시는 학창 시절부터 현재까지 함께 작업하고 있는 네 명의 친구 장 줄리앙, 니콜라스 줄리앙, 얀 르 벡, 그웬달 르 벡의 작품들을 공개한다.이들에게 '친구'는 단순한 우정(Amitié) 그 이상을 의미한다. 나아가 공통된 취향과 관심사, 문학과 영화, 작품 이야기를 끊임없이 주고받으며 상호 보완적 관계를 유지하는 ‘예술 공동체’ 개념에 가깝다.

작가들의 작품 속 대상이 되는 일상의 장면은 각자 사용하는 매체와 접근 방식 등 표현은 조금씩 다르지만, 오랜 시간 함께 삶의 여러 지점을 공유해 왔기에 대상을 바라보는 시선이 닮아 있음을 느낄 수 있다. 느슨한 듯 밀접하게 얽힌 이들의 관계처럼, 전시장을 채운 작품에서도 이와 같은 조화로운 균형이 드러난다. 마치 같은 지점에서 만나 다른 방향으로 뻗어 나가는 교차로처럼 네 명은 작업을 통해 서로 영향을 미치고, 각자의 예술세계를 더욱 풍요롭게 확장하고 있다.

알부스 갤러리에서는 <친구들 Les Amis>전을 통해 장 줄리앙의 신작 페인팅과 니콜라스 줄리앙의 새 조각 작품들, 한국에서 처음으로 소개되는 얀 르 벡과 그웬달 르 벡의 작품들을 만나 볼 수 있으며 그들의 교차로 위로 관객들을 기쁜 마음으로 초대한다.

Albus Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition Friends Les Amis on view from August 26 to November 26, 2023.The exhibition presents the work of four friends, Jean Julien, Nicolas Julien, Jan Le Beck and Gwendal Le Beck, who have been working together since their school days. For them, "friends" means more than just friendship (Amitié).

It is more like an "artistic community," a complementary relationship based on shared tastes and interests, a constant exchange of literature, films, and stories.

Although the artists' depictions of everyday scenes are slightly different in terms of the mediums they use and the

approaches they take, you can feel the similarity in the way they look at their subjects because they have shared various points in their lives together for a long time. Just like their loosely intertwined relationship, this harmonious balance is also evident in the works that fill the exhibition. Like a crossroads that meet at the same point and branch out in different

directions, the four artists influence each other through their work, enriching and expanding their respective artistic worlds.

With Friends Les Amis, Albus Gallery is pleased to present new paintings by Jean Julien, new sculptures by Nicolas

Julien, and works by Jan Le Beck and Gwendal Le Beck that are being shown for the first time in Korea, and to invite

viewers to join them at their crossroads.
